      8 - Ingredients
      9     + 1 medium onion
     10     + 1 Tbsp oil/fat
     11     + 1 Tbsp flour
     12     + 150 mL water
     13     + 1/8 tsp salt (or to taste)
     14 - Instructions
     15     + Chop onions and place in pot with oil. I just chop them
     16       into small pieces, but some people like to chop them
     17       into rings instead. Do whatever you want (within limits).

     19     + Fry onions on medium heat for 35-45 minutes.
     20       Do not be tempted to turn up the heat - it is necessary
     21       to fry them very slowly in order for them to turn brown
     22       properly instead of just burning. In fact, you may need
     23       to turn down the heat a bit after a while.
     24       You only need to stir occasionally, though, so this is
     25       something that can be done while reading a book or doing
     26       something else.

     28     + Add flour and stir until it is mixed well with the onions.

     30     + Add water and salt and stir well.

     32     + Boil/simmer on medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until it
     33       has reached the desired thickness.
     34     + Optionally blend it with an immersion blender. I haven't
     35       actually done this yet because I like the onion pieces,
     36       but some people do it.
